E.ON Energie Romania completed and delivered 34 solar power plants in 2024, offering turnkey solutions to various partners across different industrial sectors. These projects, which represent a total investment of nearly 10 million euros, have a combined installed capacity of 11.5 MW. The solar plants generate around 14 GWh of renewable electricity annually, enough to power about 11,600 households. Through these installations, partner companies not only achieve greater energy independence but also contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing CO2 emissions by over 3,200 tons per year.
The company has established itself as a leading provider of energy efficiency and decarbonization solutions for businesses of all sizes in Romania, according to CEO Claudia Griech. Over 400 businesses have partnered with E.ON to build photovoltaic systems. Notable examples include Agricola International in Bacău County, where E.ON installed four solar power plants with a total capacity of 1.998 MW, producing 2.288 GWh annually and cutting CO2 emissions by approximately 718 tons. In Timiș County, Continental Automotive Romania now operates a photovoltaic system with a capacity of 655 kW, generating 715 MWh of clean energy per year and reducing carbon emissions by around 152 tons annually. For Agrosel in Cluj County, E.ON installed three solar power plants with a combined capacity of 1.146 MW, producing 1.433 GWh annually and meeting 45% of the company’s total energy needs.
Currently, E.ON Energie Romania is working on 18 additional projects, offering tailored turnkey solutions based on customers’ specific energy requirements and consumption patterns. The company has completed more than 392 photovoltaic projects in the non-residential sector, with a total investment of 74 million euros. These installations generate over 104 GWh of solar energy annually, preventing approximately 23,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year.
