The proposed wind farm aims to install up to 25 turbines, each with a capacity of 8 MW, potentially culminating in an overall installed capacity of 140 MW. This scale highlights the project’s potential contribution to Serbia’s renewable energy landscape, aligning with broader regional efforts to enhance sustainable energy sources.
In addition to the turbines, the project entails constructing essential supporting infrastructure. This includes turbine foundations, access roads, internal cable networks, and permanent service platforms designed for maintenance operations. The specifications indicate that turbine towers may reach approximately 165 meters in height, with the total height—factoring in rotor dimensions—extending to about 250 meters. The rotor blades themselves could measure up to 85 meters long, underscoring the project’s ambitious design.
To maximize efficiency, the turbines will be equipped with advanced automatic systems that adjust according to wind direction and converters aimed at optimizing electricity production. The electricity generated will be transmitted through a dedicated transformer station rated at 35/400 kV, designated as Banat 2.
The approval of this environmental assessment marks a critical milestone for renewable energy initiatives in Serbia and reflects ongoing commitments to expand capacity in line with European Union energy policies. As such projects develop further, they will play an integral role in shaping Serbia’s energy future and its strategic positioning within Southeast Europe’s evolving power market.
