In February 2026, North Macedonia’s day-ahead electricity exchange recorded a trading volume of 115,796 MWh. This figure marks a slight increase of 1% compared to the same month in the previous year, where the volume stood at 114,665 MWh. However, it is important to note that this volume represents a significant decrease of 24.3% from January 2026.
The electricity market operator, MEMO, disclosed that the average market-clearing price for February was set at 70.76 euros per MWh. This reflects a notable decline of 42.3% when compared to January’s prices. The daily average trading volume during this month reached 4,135.6 MWh, with the peak price hitting 74.1 euros per MWh.
Since its establishment in May 2023, the North Macedonian electricity exchange has been gradually evolving within the regional energy landscape. The fluctuating trading volumes and price changes underscore the ongoing adjustments in the market as it navigates seasonal demand and regulatory influences.
