Greece: Amazon completes utility-scale solar project

Amazon has completed 39 new renewable energy projects in Europe, including the first utility-scale solar power project in Makrihoria in the Greek region of Aetoloakarnania, adding more than 1 GW of renewable energy to the European energy network.

Amazon has completed more than 160 wind and solar projects in 13 European countries, with a total installed capacity of 5.8 GW, enough to cover the energy needs of 4.7 million households in Europe annually.

Investments in renewable energy amounted to 2.4 billion euros between 2014 and 2022. The project in the central Greece region follows the completion of a similar solar project in Poland last year.
