Engineering tender for preparatory construction
Montenegro’s state-owned utility EPCG has launched a tender connected to the development of the Krupac solar power plant. The procurement covers preparatory construction and engineering works related to the project. The contractor is expected to carry out initial activities valued at approximately €1.72 million. Bids are due by 10 July, and the selected contractor must complete the works within a maximum period of 180 days.
Scope within a broader preparatory phase
The tender forms part of a wider preparatory stage estimated at around €6.7 million. The planned activities are intended to prepare the groundwork for subsequent construction of the solar facility. Preparatory work is positioned as an early step ahead of the main development phase.
Planned site, capacity and expected generation
The future solar park will be located near Lake Krupac in the Nikšić region. The project area is described as approximately 118 hectares across three separate sites. Once operational, the planned plant capacity is 41.8 MW. It is expected to generate around 62 GWh of electricity annually.
Main design documentation preparation by Greener
EPCG awarded earlier this year a contract to the local engineering firm Greener for preparation of the main project design documentation. The resulting study is intended to support subsequent development phases and eventual construction of the facility. Earlier estimates place total investment in the Krupac solar power plant at about €28 million.
Renewables expansion in Montenegro’s electricity mix
The Krupac project is described as part of EPCG’s broader strategy to expand renewable energy capacity in Montenegro. It also aims to increase the share of solar power in the national electricity mix. The utility links the initiative to Montenegro’s long-term energy transition goals.
