The Ministry of Environment and Tourism of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) said that German renewables developer wpd has filed a request for a preliminary environmental impact assessment (EIA) study for its 126 MW wind project.
wpd’s local subsidiary Vjetroelektrane Dah Planine is planning to build wind farm Marino Brdo in Bosansko Grahovo municipality. The wind farm will consist of 21 Siemens Gamesa SG 170-6.0 MW wind turbines and is expected to generate about 320 GWh of electricity per year.
Last year, wpd said that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and concession agreements with the Government of the Herzeg-Bosnia Canton for the construction of two wind farms. The two wind farms in question are Cadilj and Marino Brdo, with combined installed capacity of 264 MW. The projects will be developed and operated by local subsidiary Vjetroelektrane Dah Planine. Financial details of the projects were not disclosed.
138 MW wind farm Cadilj will be built in Glamoc municipality, while 126 MW Marino Brdo wind farm will be located in Bosansko Grahovo municipality.
The one off concession fee for the first wind farm is around 31,000 euros and for the second one – around 28,000 euros. The concessionaire will also pay the annual amount of 1.75 % of electricity production for both wind farms. The concessions are valid for a period of 30 years.
