Households in the Republic of Srpska (RS) will see higher electricity bills from 1 February 2026, following a decision by the energy regulator to adjust regulated charges. According to the head of the RS Regulatory Commission for Energy (RERS), residential consumers will face a 10% increase.
The price adjustment will also affect businesses, though to a lesser extent. Commercial electricity tariffs are set to rise by around 6%, reflecting differences in consumption patterns and cost allocation between households and industry. Overall, the regulator expects household bills to increase by the full 10%.
RERS also approved new network fee levels for the 2026–2028 regulatory period, a key component of end-user electricity prices. This follows months of pressure from electricity distributors, who initially requested a 40% rise in network fees, later revising it to over 46%, citing sharply higher costs for electricity used to cover distribution losses. The price of electricity for this purpose rose by nearly 40%, significantly increasing distributor expenses.
While the regulator approved a smaller adjustment than requested, the decision still results in a noticeable increase for end users, particularly households, from early 2026.
