Albania, EU to provide 80 million euros in support

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said that the EU will provide 80 million euros in grants to Albania to help the country deal with the ongoing energy crisis.

Von der Leyen said that these grants will help Albania address the impact of high energy prices that it has on citizens and businesses. The EC is also planning about 500 million euro in grants for the Western Balkans, intended to back invest- ments in energy infrastructure. This funding will be provided through the EC’s Economic and Invest- ment Plan for the Western Balkans.
