According to Romanian media, independent electricity supplier Restart Energy has started sending out notices to its 50,000 customers, informing them that the currently contracts will be terminated upon expiry, without the possibility of their extension, thus effectively existing the electricity supply business.
In late 2021, Restart Energy announced that it was abandoning the supply of natural gas to focus on renewable energy projects in 2022.
For 2022, Restart Energy planned to complete the works on the 45 MW project worth 40 million euros, obtain the building permit for another 500 MW in renewable capacity and carry out solar projects for industrial customers worth 20 million euros.
