PPC Group Reports Significant Profit Growth and Renewable Expansion in Q1 2026

PPC Group has announced a notable increase in its financial performance for the first quarter of 2026, showcasing a robust growth trajectory driven by the expansion of its renewable energy initiatives and strategic investments in flexible power generation. The company’s adjusted EBITDA reached approximately €700 million, reflecting a substantial rise from the €500 million recorded during the same period in 2025. Additionally, the adjusted net profit attributable to minority interests surged to nearly €200 million, doubling from €100 million in the previous year.

The improved financial results can be attributed to several factors, including successful projects launched in recent years and favorable weather conditions that enhanced hydropower and wind generation outputs. This combination not only elevated renewable production but also reinforced PPC’s overall operational performance, thereby strengthening its earnings profile.

PPC’s investment efforts remain vigorous, with an allocation of roughly €500 million during the first quarter. A significant portion—around 82%—of this capital expenditure was directed towards developing renewable energy sources, enhancing flexible generation capabilities, and modernizing electricity distribution networks. These investments align closely with PPC’s long-term strategic transformation goals.

As of late March 2026, PPC’s installed renewable energy capacity reached 7.2 GW, which constitutes nearly 60% of the total generation capacity of the company. Furthermore, PPC is actively expanding its future project pipeline, which currently includes approximately 6.7 GW of renewable projects at various stages of development, including those under construction or preparing for tender procedures.

Despite the increased investment levels, PPC has successfully maintained its financial metrics within acceptable limits. The company’s net debt was reported at approximately €6.9 billion, while its leverage ratio stood at 3.0x, remaining comfortably below the internal threshold of 3.5x.

PPC has reaffirmed its financial guidance for the entirety of 2026, targeting an adjusted EBITDA of €2.4 billion and an adjusted net income around €700 million. The company also plans to distribute a dividend of €0.8 per share.

CEO Georgios Stassis commented on these developments by highlighting the strong operational momentum that PPC has entered into 2026 with, pointing out the stability offered by its integrated business model and ongoing transition towards cleaner energy production methods. He further emphasized PPC’s commitment to disciplined investments in renewable energy and infrastructure as it seeks to enhance its role in the evolving energy landscape across Central and Southeastern Europe.
