Serbia’s national oil company, NIS, has formally requested a renewal of its special permit from the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). This request is critical as the current authorization, granted on February 20, is set to expire on March 20. The renewal is essential for NIS to maintain its operations without interruption.
In its appeal to U.S. authorities, NIS underscored the importance of uninterrupted operations for both Serbia’s economy and its energy sector.
