FBiH limits petroleum profit margins and advances draft natural gas legislation

Margin caps for petroleum products

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) adopted a decision to limit profit margins on petroleum products. The measure introduces caps for both wholesale and retail pricing components. Wholesale margins on non-premium fuels are set at €0.03 per liter, while retailers may apply a maximum margin of €0.125 per liter.

The regulation is scheduled to remain in force for 90 days. Enforcement will be carried out by federal and cantonal market inspectorates, according to the Government. Authorities said the decision follows recent developments in energy markets.

Draft Law on Natural Gas forwarded to parliament

In the same session, the FBiH Government approved a draft Law on Natural Gas. The draft was forwarded to the Federation Parliament for further procedure. The proposed legislation sets out a regulatory framework for organizing and developing the gas sector.

The framework covers activities including production, transport, distribution, storage, supply, and trading. It also includes rules for market supervision and operation, as outlined in the draft law.
