Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development [the Bank] for a project to improve the efficiency of EPS’ mining operations at the Kolubara basin and significantly improve the quality and uniformity of the coal it delivers to its power stations. The Project intends to fund the purchase of (1) a coal excavator, conveyor and spreader overburden system for the new mine at the east part of the Kolubara lignite basin, (2) a spreader system at an existing mine and (3) a coal management system for the whole Kolubara mining operations.
