Slovenia, Net electricity generation in September decreased by 3 %

According to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia, country’s net electricity generation in September 2022 decreased by 3 % compared to the same month last year.

In September 2022, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,017 GWh, which is 1 % more than in the previous month. In September, production in thermal power plants decreased by 34 % compared to the same month in 2021, production in hydropower plants increased by 32 %, while NPP Krsko production was at the same level as in the previous year. In September 2022, Slovenia imported 842 GWh (4 % more compared to September 2021) of electricity and exported 799 GWh (+ 6 %).

In September 2022, households consumed 239 GWh of electricity, while the consumption of commercial consumers amounted to 628 GWh.

Supply of energy commodities in general went up in September, except from the supply of petrol which dropped by 20 %, lignite and brown coal by 18 %, kerosene by 14 % and diesel with 7 %. Compared to the previous month, an increase in supply of heating oil (74 %) was recorded, as well as hard coal (71 %), other petroleum products (29 %), LPG (20 %), natural gas (16 %) and coke (9 %).

Compared to September 2021, the supply of hard coal decreased by 44 %, other petroleum products by 37 %, lignite and brown coal by 26 %, heating oil by 20 %, petrol by 8 % and natural gas by 8 %.
