Romania, Fees for electricity distribution and transmission services will not be increased from 1 January

According to a draft order of the National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE), the fees for electricity distribution and transmission services will not be increased from 1 January, as it was intended, but from 1 April 2022.

ANRE pointed out that, given that the consumer support mechanism, which includes price caps, is in place during the winter, the network fees, which are included in final electricity price, will be maintained during this period.

The draft order states that, considering the provisions of the Law according to which for the period between 1 November 2021 and 31 March 2022, for certain categories of final customers, the capped final price is set at a maximum of 0.2 euros/kWh and a reference price of 0.14 euros/ kWh which includes fees for electricity transmission and distribution services, it is proposed to maintain in force the current fees until 31 March 2022.

At the same time, it is provided that the income differences of the network operators resulting in the abovementioned period are recovered according to the provisions of the methodologies in force.
