Romania, ANRE imposed fines on electricity and natural gas distribution operators in a total amount of some 500,000 euros

The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) imposed fines on electricity and natural gas distribution operators in a total amount of some 500,000 euros for non-compliance with ANRE regulations.

Between March and October 2021, ANRE carried out numerous controls at the electricity and natural gas distribution operators. Thus, natural gas distributor Distrigaz Sud was fined with 145,000 euros, mainly for non-compliance with the 30-day deadline for issuing the technical connection notice to individuals and legal entities and non-compliance with the 45-day deadline for amending the technical approval in principle for which no connection contracts have been concluded.

Distributie Energie Electrica Romania was fined with 140,000 euros, mainly for non-compliance with the 90-day deadline for the design, authorization, execution and reception of the commissioning of electrical connections and non-compliance with the 30-day deadline for issuing the technical connection notice to individuals and legal entities.

E-Distributie Muntenia was sanctioned with fined with 75,000 euros, E-Distributie Dobrogea with 40,000 euros and E-Distributie Banat with 15,000 euros.

Also Delgaz Grid was fined with 30,000 euros in total, of which 18,000 euros is related to electricity distribution and 12,000 euros to natural gas distribution activities. and with fines in the amount of 60,000 lei, in the field of natural gas. Distributie Energie Oltenia was sanctioned with fines amounting to 14,000 euros.
