North Macedonia, Electricity consumption in North Macedonia in February 2022 amounted to 733,115 MWh

Total electricity consumption in North Macedonia in February 2022 amounted to 733,115 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 39.59 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 403,441 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 90,747 tons.

According to the data from State Statistical Office, 64.1 % of the consumed electricity in February was covered by domestic production, while 98.8 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production.

Total net production of electricity in Macedonia in February 2022 stood at 438,766 MWh, which is by 7.8 % lower compared to the same month last year. 226,598 MWh or 51.6 % was produced at thermal power plants (+ 61.1 % compared to February 2021), 59,051 MWh or 13.5 % was produced at hydropower plants (- 67.2 %), 137,904 MWh or 31.4 % in CHP plants (- 1.7 %) and 9,829 MWh or 2.24 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.

Production at biogas power plants reached 3,673 MWh, while solar power plants produced 1,671 MWh of electricity in February.
