Montenegro’s state-owned power company EPCG has launched a tender to select a contractor for the main design of the Krupac solar power plant, with an estimated contract value of 125,000 euros.
The plant is planned on the shore of Krupac Lake near Nikšić, with technical documentation outlining a total installed capacity of 41.8 MW. EPCG presents the project as part of its decarbonization strategy, aimed at reducing CO2 emissions and gradually replacing coal with renewable energy sources, in line with sustainable development goals and cooperation with the European Union.
The Krupac facility will feature photovoltaic modules mounted on supporting structures, connected into arrays, with outputs routed to inverters and then fed into low-voltage blocks at the substation. Connection to the network will be established through a new 110 kV overhead line linked to the planned 220/110 kV Trubjela substation.
The main design will cover architectural and civil works, process engineering, technical equipment and installations, along with detailed bills of quantities and a full cost estimate for all planned works.
