Macedonia, Electricity consumption in North Macedonia in September 2021 amounted to 528,695 MWh

Total electricity consumption in North Macedonia in September 2021 amounted to 528,695 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 37.23 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 435,070 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 92,829 tons.

According to the data from State Statistical Office, 87.9 % of electricity consumed in September was covered by domestic production, while 96.61 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production.

Total net production of electricity in Macedonia in September 2021 stood at 434,647 MWh, which is by 1.1 % higher compared to the same month last year. 216,037 MWh or 49.7 % was produced at thermal power plants (+ 15.7 % compared to September 2020), 47,363 MWh or 10.9 % was produced at hydropower plants (- 33.8 %), 158,485 MWh or 36.5 % in CHP plants (+ 0.7 %) and 6,927 MWh or 1.59 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.

Production at biogas power plants reached 3,799 MWh, while solar power plants produced 2,036 MWh of electricity in September.
