Hungary: Average price on HUPX day-ahead market in August reached 100 euros/MWh

The average price of electricity on the day-ahead market of the Hungarian energy exchange HUPX reached 100.41 euros/MWh in August 2023. That is 6% higher compared to the previous month (94.98 euros/MWh).

The average DAM peak price amounted to 93.99 euros/MWh in August, 9% higher compared to the July peak price. Traded volume on the day-ahead market reached 1.95 million MWh, 4% less compared to July (2.03 million MWh) and 6% less than in August 2022 (2.07 million MWh).

The average daily traded volume in August amounted to 62,927 MWh. Total traded volume on the intraday market amounted to 664,941 MWh in August 2023, which is 5% less compared to the previous month.

The average daily traded volume on the intraday market amounted to 21,450 MWh. The average price for the hourly product amounted to 104.52 euros/ MWh in August, 6 % more compared to the previous month.
