BiH: Gas-Res plans to acquire majority stake in Comsar Energy

The public natural gas distributor of the Republic of Srpska Gas-Res plans to acquire the majority stake in Comsar Energy RS, a subsidiary of Russian Comsar Energy, which was involved in the TPP Ugljevik 3 and HPP Mrsovo projects.

RS competition authority said earlier that the company is not obliged to submit a notification of concentration to the authority.

Comsar Energy RS was established in 2012 as a joint venture between Russian Comsar Energy and Bosnian coalmine and thermal power plant (RiTE) Ugljevik, a subsidiary of public power utility ERS. Comsar Energy owns 90% of the joint venture company, whereas RiTE Ugljevik holds a 10% stake.
