The Albanian electricity exchange ALPEX reported that a total of 124.5 GWh of electricity was traded on the day-ahead market in May 2025. This marks a 2.6 percent decline compared to the previous month and a 7 percent decrease compared to May 2024.

Of the total volume, 67.5 GWh was traded for the Kosovo bidding zone and 72 GWh for the Albania bidding zone. Both zones recorded the same average market clearing price of 92.04 euros per megawatt-hour, representing a 1.4 percent increase from April 2025 and a 28.2 percent rise compared to the same month last year.

ALPEX was established in October 2020 by Albania’s transmission system operator OST and Kosovo’s KOSTT. It conducted its first auction for the Albanian market in April 2023. The exchange now includes 36 members active across the bidding zones of Albania and Kosovo.
