Romania, Nuclearelectrica recorded a net profit in the amount of 397 million euros in the first nine months of 2022

Romanian electricity producer Nuclearelectrica, the operator of the country’s sole nuclear power plant Cernavoda, recorded a net profit in the amount of 397 million euros in the first nine months of 2022, compared to a profit of 130.8 million euros in the same period last year.

The company’s operating profit rose by 126 % year-on-year, reaching 541.5 million euros in January-September 2022 period, mainly as a result of the 128.4 % increase in revenues from the sale of electricity.

Electricity sales revenues rose to 987 million euros in the first nine months of 2022, compared to the 432 million euros in the same period last year.

Nuclearelectrica generated about 7.41 million MWh of electricity in the first nine months, a 2.1 % decrease on the year.

The company invested some 86 million euros in the first nine months of the year, representing more than half of the planned investment for this year .
