Southeastern Europe: Gas deliveries of Gazprom decreased in 2019

Gazprom’s natural gas exports to southeastern Europe dropped by 3.1 % in 2019 compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 12.095 billion cubic meters.

In 2019, Moldova was the largest importer of Russian natural gas in the region, with a total of 2.89 billion cubic meters, but the amount is 1.7 % lower than in 2018. North Macedonia experienced the largest increase in deliveries – gas imports in 2019 reached 296 million cubic meters of gas as opposed to 162 million in 2018, which is a 82.7 % increase. Croatia came second with 2.821 billion cubic meters of gas, compared to 2.04 billion in 2018, which is a 38.3 % increase. Bulgaria imported 2.387 billion cubic meters of gas or 24.7 % less compared to the previous year, Serbia imported 2.135 billion cubic meters (- 0.5 %), Romania 0.994 billion cubic meters (-24.7 %), Slovenia 0.336 billion cubic meters (- 26.6 %), while Bosnia and Herzegovina imported 236 million cubic meters, which is a 3.7 % decrease.
