Slovenia, Petrol Group is planning to invest 17 million euros in the construction of three solar power plants

The Slovenian Petrol Group said that it is planning to invest 17 million euros in the construction of three solar power plants near Knin in Croatia.

The statement from the company said that all the necessary preparations for the construction of three solar power plants – Suknovci, Pliskovo and Vrbnik, were completed in 2021 and the project now is in ready-to-build phase. The three power plants have a combined installed capacity of 22 MW and should enter commercial operation in 2023.

President of Petrol’s Supervisory Board, which approved these investments, said that with construction of these power plants, the company continues to pursue its strategic goal of reaching 160 MW in RES installed capacity by 2025.

At the end of 2021, Petrol had a RES portfolio of 68.9 MW. In order to reach its 2025 goal, the company will allocate 35 % of its investment potential of 698 million euros for renewable energy projects.
