Slovenia, HSE launched the reconstruction of the 90-year-old HPP Hubelj

Soske Elektrarne Nova Gorica (SENG), a subsidiary of Slovenian electricity producer HSE, launched the reconstruction of the 90-year-old hydropower plant Hubelj near Ajdovscina. The project is worth 4 million euros and is expected to result in significant improvements to the local environment and the community.

HPP Hubelj, which has been operational since 1931, will undergo a complete renovation. The reconstruction will extend the lifespan of the power plant, increase electricity production and improve its energy efficiency.

CEO of HSE Viktor Vracar emphasized that the company, which in 2020 produced as much as 88 % of the total electricity produced from renewable sources in Slovenia, was investing in green technologies at a facilitated pace.
