Slovenia: Higher electricity production in July

In July 2020, net electricity generation in Slovenia increased by 7 % compared to the same month last year, according to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia.

In July 2020, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,443 GWh, which is 5 % more than in the previous month. At the same time, consumption reached 1,075 GWh, which is a 5 % increase compared to June 2020, but 9 % lower compared to July 2019. In July, production in thermal power plants decreased by 4 % compared to the same month in 2019, production in hydro-power plants increased by 32 %, while production at nuclear power plant Krsko was 1 % higher. In July 2020, Slovenia imported 605 GWh (+ 20 % compared to July 2019) of electricity and exported 955 GWh (- 6 %). Supply of energy commodities in general went up in July, except from the supply of heating oil which dropped by 71 %, hard coal by 27 % and kerosene by 10 %. Compared to the previous month, an increase in supply of other petroleum products (30 %) was recorded, as well as LPG (29 %), lignite and brown coal (27 %), coke (18 %), natural gas (15 %) and diesel (10 %).
