Slovenia, Electricity generation dropped by 1 % in February

According to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia, country’s net electricity generation in February 2023 decreased by 1 % compared to the same month last year.

In February 2023, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,041 GWh, which is 9 % less than in the previous month.

In February, production in thermal power plants decreased by 22 % compared to the same month in 2022, production in hydropower plants increased by 17 %, while the production at NPP Krsko was 6 % higher.

In February 2023, Slovenia imported 851 GWh (3 % more compared to February 2022) of electricity and exported 728 GWh (+ 6 %).

In February 2023, households consumed 332 GWh of electricity, while the consumption of commercial consumers amounted to 590 GWh.

Supply of energy commodities in general went down in February, except from the supply of lignite and brown coal which rose by 29 %, other petroleum products by 24 % and LPG by 2 %.

Compared to the previous month, a decrease in supply of heating oil (16 %) was recorded, as well as diesel (12 %), petrol (11 %), hard coal (10 %) and kerosene (3 %).

Compared to February 2022, the supply of heating oil decreased by 34 %, hard coal by 33 %, lignite and brown coal by 16 %, LPG by 12 %, natural gas by 5 % and coke by 3 %.
