Serbia: JICA interested in participating in pump-storage HPP Bistrica project

The delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has expressed an interest in cooperating with Serbia on the new project of the construction of a pump-storage hydropower plant Bistrica

Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic said that a special project team had been formed and that, together with representatives of state-owned EPS, the preparation of the technical documentation would continue. She added that the construction of HPP Bistrica was a priority project in the Plan of Development of Energy Infrastructure and Energy Efficiency Measures, adopted by the Government and that it would have an important role in efforts to increase the production of electricity from renewable sources.
