Serbia, Electricity price increases are not planned at the moment

Newly appointed Acting Director of Serbian state- owned power utility EPS Miroslav Tomasevic said that electricity price increases are not planned at the moment and he does not expect increases in the near future.

Tomasevic explained that EPS will base its strategy on production. He said that electricity exports will balance out electricity imports, so there will be no need for increasing electricity prices. He added that there is enough electricity and any disruptions in supply are out of the question.

EPS still has issues with coal supply to TENT thermal complex, the largest coal-fired power plant in the country, which prevents simultaneous operation of all of its units. The Working Group for Monitoring the Security of Supply of Energy and Energy Sources said last week that the increase in coal supply is expected by the end of March.
