Turkish company Yesilyurt Enerji is set to acquire a 41 MW solar project in Dâmbovița County, southern Romania. The project has reached the “ready-to-build” phase, meaning that construction can begin as all necessary permits have been secured.
Founded in 2010, Yesilyurt Enerji began producing electricity in 2013 with the construction of a gas-fired power plant in Turkey. The company expanded its operations in 2014 by providing energy to households, businesses, and the industrial sector. In 2017, Yesilyurt Enerji entered cross-border energy trading across central and southeastern Europe under the brand Yesilyurt Energy Trading.
In 2019, the company strategically moved into the natural gas sector and continued its expansion by entering the Prague market through Greenland Commodities in 2021. This acquisition in Romania represents a significant step in Yesilyurt Enerji’s efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio and strengthen its presence in the European energy market.
