Romania: Rompetrol’s acquisition of nine petrol stations

The Romanian Competition Council has approved the Rompetrol’s acquisition of nine petrol stations, actually transaction through which Rompetrol Downstream took over the operation of nine petrol stations belonging to the member companies of the Comision Trade Group.

Following the analysis, the Competition Council found that this operation does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition on the Romanian market or on a substantial part of it and that there are no serious doubts about its compatibility with a normal competitive environment.

The Comision Trade Group is active in the following sectors: wholesale sales of general goods, domestic and international road transport activities, distribution of fuels in gas stations. Comision Trade has been a Rompetrol partner since 2005, currently operating a number of Rompetrol stations under franchise.
