Romania: Hidroelectrica to invest in 1.5 GW floating solar power plants together with Masdar

Hidroelectrica and Masdar are planning to invest in the construction of floating solar power plants, with a capacity of 1,500 MW, CEO of Romanian electricity producer Hidroelectrica Bogdan Badea said. He added that Hidroelectrica focuses on several targets. The first target is to maintain and increase the company’s profitability and financial performance, which also comes with the plan to increase the installed capacity in terms of the production and diversification of energy sources.

The company’s investment plans are directed towards, in addition to new hydro capacities that it can still achieve, taking into account the restrictions on the environment that we have at the moment, diversification towards other regional energy sources
