Romania: Electricity production reached 43 TWh in the first nine months

Electricity consumption in Romania in the first nine months amounted to 36.5 TWh, which is 7% less compared to the same period last year.

Industrial consumption reached 27.8 TWh, 5% less compared to 2022. Household electricity consumption amounted to 8.45 TWh, which is an 11% decrease.

Public lighting consumption dropped by 22% amounting to 305.9 GWh.

Total electricity production reached 42.9 TWh in the first nine months of 2023, which is 3% more compared to the same period in 2022.

Production in thermal power plants decreased by 20% and reached 12.68 TWh. Production in hydropower plants increased by 39.6 % to 15 TWh, while electricity production in nuclear power plant increased by 3% to 8.3 TWh.
