Romania: Decrease of OMV Petrom’s hydrocarbon output

In the first quarter of 2021, hydrocarbon output of the largest Romanian oil and gas company OMV Petrom dropped to 138,900 barrels of oil equivalent per day from 150,300 barrels of oil equivalent per day in the same period last year. Also, daily hydrocarbon production in the first quarter of 2021 was slightly lower compared to the fourth quarter of 2020, when it produced 140,200 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Total daily hydrocarbon sales volume amounted to 131,000 barrels of oil equivalent in the January-March 2021 period, down from a daily 141,400 in the same period of 2020. Total sales of refined products fell to 1.15 million tons in the first quarter of 2021, compared to 1.20 million tons in the like period of the previous year. Natural gas sales to third parties dropped to 11.65 TWh in the first quarter of this year, compared to 16.08 TWh in Q1 2020. Net electricity output slightly increased in the first quarter reaching 1.18 TWh, compared to 1.12 TWh the same period of 2020.
