Romania, Average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the OPCOM amounted to 133.89 euros/MWh in September

The average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM amounted to 133.89 euros/MWh in September 2021, which is 191.99 % higher compared to the same month in 2020 and 18.8 % higher compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 112.7 euros/MWh.

Traded volume in September reached 1.763 million MWh, which is 2.36 % more than in September 2020, and 4.36 % less than in August 2021. Average traded volume in September 2021 amounted to 2,449.6 MWh/h.

The total value of transactions in September amounted to 238.34 million euros, which is by 197.81 % more compared to September last year (80.03 million euros) and 12.51 % more than in the previous month (211.83 million euros).

The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in September 2021 amounted to 40.42 %.

A total of 103,681.7 MWh was traded on intraday market in September (132.73 % more than in September 2020, and 6.92 % more compared to August 2021), with an average price of 133.51 euros/MWh (178.71 % higher compared to September 2020 and 15.73 % higher compared to the previous month).

Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in September amounted to 1.274 million MWh, with an average price of 116.75 euros/MWh.
