Romana: Natural gas storage capacity almost 95% filled

Romaninan natural gas reserves for the winter season exceeded by 5% the target of 90% of the total storage capacity set for this year, according to Virgil Popescu, president of the Commission for the Environment and Ecological Balance in the Chamber of Deputies.

This means that the natural gas reserves in Romania exceeded 3 billion cubic metres, accounting for nearly 95% of the total storage capacity.

Romania has enough resources to cover the energy needs of the population and industry this winter, Virgil Popescu added.

According to the latest data from the Association of European Storage Operators (AGSI), the deposit filling rate at the level of the European Union was similar (94.4%) on September 21.
