North Macedonia, Total electricity consumption July amounted to 525,730 MWh

Total electricity consumption in North Macedonia in July 2022 amounted to 525,730 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 12.59 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 466,130 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 97,117 tons.

According to the data from State Statistical Office, 82.4 % of the consumed electricity in July was covered by domestic production, while 98.3 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production.

Total net production of electricity in Macedonia in July 2022 stood at 400,533 MWh, which is by 3.6 % higher compared to the same month last year. 240,670 MWh or 60.1 % was produced at thermal power plants (+ 29.5 % compared to July 2021), 100,010 MWh or 25 % was produced at hydropower plants (- 15.1 %), 42,901 MWh or 10.7 % in CHP plants (- 70.7 %) and 10,464 MWh or 2.61 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.

Production at biogas power plants reached 3,079 MWh, while solar power plants produced 3,410 MWh of electricity in July.
