North Macedonia: Electricity production in March

According to the data from State Statistical Office, 61.8 % of the consumed electricity in March was covered by domestic production, while 97.8 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production.

Total electricity consumption in North Macedonia in March 2020 amounted to 699,773 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 15.55 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 467,692 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 80,000 tons.

Total net production of electricity in North Macedonia in March 2020 stood at 404,660 MWh, which is 7.2 % lower compared to the same month last year. 239,173 MWh or 59.1 % was produced at thermal power plants (- 29.4 % compared to March 2019), 146,479 MWh or 36.2 % was produced at hydropower plants (+ 77 %) and 11,019 MWh or 2.72 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.
