Macedonia, MEPSO has commissioned a new 110 kV transmission line

North Macedonian electricity transmission system operator MEPSO has commissioned a new 110 kV transmission line connecting the Stip and Ovce Pole substations, a project worth some 1.4 million euros.

The statement from the operator said that the transmission line was build by a consortium of Serbian companies Kodar Energomontaza and Elektroistok Izgradnja under a supervision of a local company Stolb.

The works on the line started last March, on the route of the existing 17.8 kilometers long transmission line, which was commissioned in the 1960s. The reconstruction project was funded by a loan obtained from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The project is a part of a broader plan of the Government of North Macedonia, which includes the construction or reconstruction of six 110 kV transmission lines within a 15 million euros investment program aimed at modernizing the country’s electricity transmission network.
