Hungary: German ABO Wind commissioned solar power plant

ABO Wind, German-based renewable energy developer, has commissioned 6.5 MW solar power plant near Puspokladany in eastern Hungary, its second solar project in the country.

The commissioned solar power plant is entitled to an indexed fixed tariff of 0.094 euros/kWh for a period of 20 years under the retired KAT support scheme. Hungary discontinued the KAT feed-in-tariff system at the end of 2016 and replaced it by an auction model.

The Puspokladany plant is located some 50 kilometers from ABO Wind’s first solar project in the country – 6.2 MWp solar plant near the town of Letavertes, which was launched in mid-2019.

ABO Wind established its Hungarian subsidiary in 2018, but has recently sold both of its commissioned solar parks in Hungary to Danish renewables investor Obton.
