Greece, Siemens Gamesa has signed an agreement on the supply of wind turbines for 26 MW wind farm

Wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa said that it has signed an agreement on the supply of wind turbines for 26 MW wind farm Sterea Ellada in Central Greece.

The contract was signed with Ascent Power and Siemens Gamesa will deliver five of its SG 5.2-145 wind turbines, which will be the manufacturer’s most powerful wind turbines so far installed in Greece.

The installation of turbines and wind farm’s commissioning should be completed by the end of 2022. Siemens Gamesa also signed 22-year operations and maintenance (O&M) contract for the wind farm.

Once operational, the wind farm will produce enough electricity to cover the annual consumption of over 22,000 households, while offsetting close to 70,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

Currently, Siemens Gamesa has 614 MW of wind turbine capacity contracted through O&M contracts in Greece.
