Greece: PPC Renewables begins construction on 100 MW of new wind farms

PPC Renewables has officially commenced the construction of three new wind farms in Greece, totaling around 100 MW in capacity. These projects are expected to be completed by the first half of 2026 and are projected to generate more than 280 GWh of electricity annually.

The PPC Group continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio, which currently stands at approximately 5.5 GW of installed capacity. In addition, the company has a pipeline of around 3.8 GW in renewable energy projects that are either under construction or ready for development.

PPC Group’s growth strategy for renewable energy in Greece and southeastern Europe includes both organic expansion and strategic partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions. Recently, the company acquired the renewable assets of Evryo Group in Romania, previously owned by Macquarie Asset Management funds. This acquisition includes operational projects totaling 629 MW, as well as an additional 145 MW in projects under development.

PPC has also entered into a partnership agreement with the Copelouzos and Samaras Groups to acquire an operational renewable energy portfolio of 66.6 MW, along with the joint development of projects totaling up to 1.7 GW.

PPC Renewables, a wholly owned subsidiary of the state-controlled Public Power Corporation, focuses on advancing renewable energy projects and energy storage solutions to meet the growing demand for sustainable energy in the region.
