Greece, Eni has acquired local company SKGR

Italian oil and gas company Eni has acquired local company Solar Konzept Greece (SKGR), which has some 800 MW in solar projects in various stages of development in Greece.

SKGR was acquired from Solar Konzept International, which is majority-owned by German investment management firm Aquila Capital. The transaction was carried out through the Italian company’s utility business Eni Gas e Luce and marks its entry into the Greek renewable power generation market. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Eni Gas e Luce already operates as an energy supplier in Greece. The acquisition of SKGR’s projects will form the basis for further development in the country and support Eni’s plan to grow capacity alongside its vertically integrated activities.

Eni Gas e Luce, which will operate under the Plenitude brand this year, had 1.2 GW of operational renewable capacity at the end of 2021.
The company has set the target to install over 6 GW in renewables by 2025 and over 15 GW by 2030.
