Enel Green Power’s portfolio in Greece include the major wind park at Kafireas on the Evia island and a total of 58 RES projects with a combined installed capacity of 475 MW. Enel Green Power Director Aristotelis Hantavas said at an investment conference in Athens that the company is ready to make new investments in Greece, but also stressed that they require a stable regulatory framework.

Besides its interest in strengthening its portfolio in solar and wind power plants, Italian Enel Green Power is also considering new, promising sector in the Greek renewable energy market, such as green ports, smart islands and repowering.

Last October, Enel Green Power commissioned its new Kafireas wind farm complex in Greece, an investment worth 300 million euros. Located in the municipality of Karystos on the island of Evia, the wind farm has a total installed capacity of 154 MW and is expected to generate about 480 GWh of electricity per year. Kafireas complex comprises 67 wind turbines spread across seven wind farms. At present, the company operates two wind farms in the municipality of Karystos, the 7.5 MW Iliolousti I and the 9 MW Iliolousti II. With the commissioning of Kafireas, the company has reached more than 460 MW of installed capacity from wind power, solar power and hydroelectric power. Additionally, the wind farm has a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) in place with the Greek electricity market operator LAGIE.
