Croatia: Traded electricity on CROPEX in November

In November 2020 on the Croatian energy exchange CROPEX a total volume of 530,021.2 MWh of electricity was traded, which is 4.7 % more than in October, of which 500,051.6 MWh on the day-ahead market and 29,969.6 MWh on the intraday market.

Traded volume in November 2020 was 14.2 % higher compared to the same month last year. Average daily base price on day-ahead market in November amounted to 47.21 euros/MWh, which is 22.3 % higher than in the previous month, while average euro-peak price reached 53.82 euros/MWh, 22.7 % higher compared to the previous month. The average price on the intraday market was 47 euros/MWh, 2.9 % higher compared to October. There are 21 participants on CROPEX day-ahead market (+1 compared to the previous month), thirteen of which have been active on the intraday market as well. Average daily traded volume on the day-ahead market in November amounted to 16,668.4 MWh. CROPEX was launched on 11 March 2016 in cooperation with Nord Pool, Europe’s leading electricity exchange, and is co-owned by the Croatian electricity transmission system operator (HOPS) and the Croatian electricity market operator (HROTE). Intraday market was launched in April 2017. On 19 June last year, after joint project of Croatian and Slovenian transmission system operators and power exchanges, CROPEX day ahead market was successfully coupled with MRC markets through Croatian – Slovenian border.
