Croatia: Three contracts signed between Dalekovod and Slovenian ELES

Three contracts worth 59.5 million euros were signed between Croatian Dalekovod Group and Slovenian electricity transmission system operator ELES.

The statement from the company said that the projects will be implemented by its Slovenian subsidiary Dalekovod Ljubljana, Elektrotehna Elex and C&G. The contracts relate to two transmission lines that are part of the first transmission line between Slovenia and Hungary. The Cirkovce-Pince project includes the construction of a total of 80-kilometers long, double 400 kV overhead transmission line, which will be completed in 2022. Works on the reconstruction and construction of 220 kV transmission line Cirkovce-Zerjavinec are scheduled for the second part of 2020. The third project is related to the reconstruction of double 400 kV transmission line Bericevo-Okroglo with a total length of 32.5 kilometers, for which Dalekovod has already started preparatory works.

Upon completion, the two transmission lines will connect Hungarian and Slovenian networks at a voltage level of 400 kV and thus increase the capacity of both transmission systems and provide preconditions for future energy projects.

Last year, EU member states have approved a grant in the amount of 48.2 million euros under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) to Slovenian electricity transmission system operator ELES for the construction of the first electricity interconnection between Slovenia and Hungary. The project implemented by ELES envisages the construction of the 80.5 kilometers long double-circuit transmission line 400kV overhead line Cirkovce-Pince and the new 400 kV Cirkovce substation, both in Slovenia. The new double 400 kV overhead line will be connected to one circuit of the existing double-circuit 400kV overhead line connecting Hungary and Croatia Heviz-Zerjavinec. Estimated cost of the project is 102.5 million euros.
