Croatia: Electricity production in April

Net electricity production in Croatia in April 2020 amounted to 662 GWh, which is 20.8 % lower compared to April last year, when the production amounted to 836 GWh, according to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics.

During April, 334 GWh of electricity or 50.5 % was produced in hydropower plants, 109 GWh or 16.5 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 133 GWh or 20.1 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 821 GWh of electricity, 17.5 % less compared to last April (995 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 216 GWh, 52.5 % less than in April 2019 (455 GWh). Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 78 million cubic meters of natural gas in April 2019, 14.3 % less compared to April last year. Natural gas imports stood at 150 million cubic meters, 17.6 % less than in April 2019. Crude oil production stood at 49,000 tons, which is 14 % lower compared to the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 295,000 tons in April 2020, compared to 35,000 tons produced in the same month last year.
