Bulgaria reports higher electricity output and lower gas consumption in June 2025

According to the Bulgarian National Statistical Institute, electricity production in June 2025 increased by 17 percent compared to April, reaching 3,024 GWh, while electricity consumption fell by 0.2 percent month-on-month to 2,403 GWh.

Natural gas consumption in June 2025 decreased by 17.8 percent to 148 million cubic meters, while production remained unchanged at 1 million cubic meters. Compared to June 2024, electricity production rose by 22.8 percent, and consumption declined by 3.6 percent. Natural gas consumption fell by 19.1 percent year-on-year.

In February, production of unleaded petrol increased by 35.4 percent to 134,000 tons, while consumption dropped by 69.3 percent to 23,000 tons. Diesel production grew by 34.8 percent to 267,000 tons, while its consumption decreased by 7.4 percent to 238,000 tons.

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) consumption fell by 7.5 percent to 37,000 tons, while production remained unchanged at 9,000 tons. In the same period, production of solid fuels increased by 31.7 percent to 880,000 tons, while consumption of solid fuels rose by 37.3 percent to 960,000 tons.
