Bulgaria: Gas price to increase by 6.5% in December

The Bulgarian Commission for Energy and Water Regulation approved a 6.5% increase in natural gas prices for December, the same as the proposal made by public gas supplier Bulgargaz. The wholesale price amounts to 44.7 euros/MWh, excluding VAT and excise duty.

Bulgaria will receive natural gas volumes from four different sources, including the entire contracted quantity of gas from Azerbaijan via the Greece-Bulgarian interconnector. This quantity will cover around 32% of the country’s consumption this month.

Bulgaria will also receive liquefied natural gas (LNG) under contracts with two traders and will make use of quantities injected in the underground storage facility Chiren.
